How do you manage your money? Investments? Do you remember what your roommate owes you, or what you owe someone else for lunch when they picked up the tab? Can't keep track of where you're spending all your money? Pulling your hair out after paying for your medical bills? Need to cut back, so that you can save and find a nice home? Or maybe you'd rather spend your lucre on a vacation for the best price.

I think it's more appropriate to talk about Web 2.0 applications or web sites, unless you're referring to companies that produce Web 2.0 enabling technologies. If that's the case, the companies listed so far don't count.

On the other hand, if you're referring to web sites that employ Web 2.0 technologies, there are lots of them. One simple example is Toronto Live! Club Hub's Clubs page. Using Google Map APIs, the dynamic map combines venue location information, club descriptions and club event calendars.

Web 2.0 is about going beyond links. It's about blending web technologies... hence the term "mash-ups".

Use this site for tutorials on CSS and XHTML, the first to basic things.

After that, you can decide what you want to do: Creating "Web Applications" (Web 2.0, AJAX) or presenting information, for which you could use PHP (php.net, do *NOT* use the W3Schools tutorial, it sucks).

Good luck!

I learnt this link from the Web2.0 blog quest. It's a technically-oriented blog about Ajax techniques, pitfalls, etc. Pretty useful resource for anything wanting to track the latest Ajax development and techniques.
