I really don't like this site. It's messy and hard to navigate. But, there are some good tunes on the site, and you can't hold the artists responsible for the crappy site.

I love this site. When I was podcasting twice a week, this site was a godsend. Great music and a nice community. Only downside is that its not as popular as it should be. Meaning, not as much music as some other podsafe sites.

This is the largest and most popular Podsafe music site. It's got the sponsors and the money to make it so. Many, many great tunes, and a far larger catalogue than any other site of its kind. If you are a podcaster, be sure to read the terms of service. Unlike other sites, there are certain rules dictating the use of the songs that you might not be comfortable with.

This is a free, open source mp3 player than you can stick in your blog posts. In conjunction with a download link, this makes it easy to give your visitors the option of playing the file on your site (without leaving it - a bonus) or downloading it to their desktop. If you just put a link and people click it, then you get the blank screen thing.

A collaboratively authored webstore and group blog for independent, or indyish, artists. We take a 2% commission from sales, and artists do their own shipping directly to the customer. Indyish is already online but launching officially Aug5-6 and we're growing beyond (but with) the original Montreal-based community of friends and makers. We're looking for nice and talented artists to share the space with us. Maybe you know somebody? Thanks!

I think it's more appropriate to talk about Web 2.0 applications or web sites, unless you're referring to companies that produce Web 2.0 enabling technologies. If that's the case, the companies listed so far don't count.

On the other hand, if you're referring to web sites that employ Web 2.0 technologies, there are lots of them. One simple example is Toronto Live! Club Hub's Clubs page. Using Google Map APIs, the dynamic map combines venue location information, club descriptions and club event calendars.

Web 2.0 is about going beyond links. It's about blending web technologies... hence the term "mash-ups".

A website that suggest artists and tracks related to the artists that you like.

Site based around users discovering new music. The site links you to people who like the same music and then suggests songs by what other people are listening too. Also MusicStrands has a strong community and a tagging system.
