The need for cover crops kinda varies based on the size of your garden. If you're just growing a few rows of vegetables in your backyard, then don't worry about it. The larger the amount of land you're growing on, the more you might want to consider it. My parents have a decent size garden on their farm, but it's secondary to their goat farm. So they really have no need. But, it's never a bad idea, and won't hurt your garden.
