Scientology in New Zealand is getting to be quite interesting these days!

This was never something I heard much about previously, but now that their news has been showing up on ScientologyToday, I decided to snoop around a bit and find what I could find.  First off, just in checking out photos of the place, I'm still sold that New Zealand where I'd be living if I could have my choice.  It's beautiful!

However, it's not without the same problems as any other country, including massive problems with drugs, as well as the attendent violence and crime.   Now, if you were at the Celebrity Centre Gala in 2004 or at the Church of Scientology of Buffalo Grand Opening (like I was, luckily enough), you would have heard Mr. David Miscavige speak about the strenuous work that Scientologists are putting in on the anti-drug front, with drug education, drug prevention, and drug rehabilitation high on the list of things active Scientologists are engaged in -- not only "engaged in" though, but actually effective at.

A whole Foundation was created just to promote drug education, as that is one of the most utterly critical parts of reducing the drug problem -- which now has its own site at: http://www.drugfreeworld.org/. Mr. David Miscavige, leader of the Scientology Religion, described the toll of drugs on society, in a speech given in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the International Association of Scientologists in 2003, drug abuse "is a problem that destroys society, and prevents any advance."
