Besides the excellent job of visualization of large amounts of data, the "mapping" functionality is a real interesting view into the methods of how people navigate sites and how the "digg effect" goes into play. Interesting from a statistical nature.

  6. I am not sure what you are looking for - suggestions of programs? I have good experience in deploying wiki as a collaborative research tool. e. g. mediawiki (link). 

    I used to collect even links in wiki - but that was before delicous.
