There are so many things that you need to know to become a freelance writer, that the list could be endless....  But I will try to get you some good links to some valuable information sites.  My best advice is to learn everything you can and then jump in.  Don't be discouraged by any rejections.  It happens to us all.  (Take it from a fellow author...  Trust me it happens!)

This magazine that I have refered to is an excellent source and should be on the shelf of every would be or accomplished writer, freelance or no.  Each issue is jam packed with hundreds of valuable tips, links, articals, websites, etc....  This is a MUST HAVE. 

This is a suburb book club where you can get books on Freelance work, Finding angents, building prose, refining and editing your work, etc...  Everything you need.  It is a monthly club, and an easy to access website.  Infact, they have a great deal for new customers.  Check it out.

They also have the Writers Market, a yearly published book which lists publishers, magazines, agents, editors, etc.  

Here you can access all that the Writers Market has, plus online tools not avalible anywhere else.  An excellent resource. 

Heres the catch.  It does have a price.  Monthly price is modest, about $4.00 the last time I checked.  There is also a ontime feel that was around $30.00.  But for the tools that you get, you can't bet it.
